Apple and Blackberry Crumble

Ingredients
For the fruit filling
- 4 medium apples (peeled, cored, chopped)
- 200g blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2–3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
For the crumble topping
- 150g plain flour
- 100g cold butter (cubed)
- 75g caster sugar (or light brown sugar for extra flavour)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.
- Prepare the fruit: Put the chopped apples in an ovenproof dish. Add the blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well.
- Make the crumble topping: In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.
- Assemble: Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
- Cook in the oven for about 35–40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
- Serve with a spoonful of our Madagascan Vanilla Yogurt.
